The National Debt.....Count your Pennies

I imagine that the subject of this post will be a bit of a surprise. I wanted to share with you a project that the students of Snohomish High School in Washington State is working on. The students have been collecting pennies, to illustrate (and to put into perspective) what the national debt is. Please view the link below.

I think it's a really great teaching opportunity, and the students really seem to get into it and come to understand the massive debt that they are going to be burdened with.

I also posted this tidbit because I graduated from Snohomish High School in 1988. Once a Panther, always a Panther! :)
